Hilton has announced the highly anticipated opening of Waldorf Astoria Cancun in Mexico.
The 173-room luxury resort is set among the mangroves of the Yucatan Peninsula. It offers panoramic ocean views, world-class dining and destination-worthy offerings.
The opening of this new luxury resort marks the 200th hotel in the Caribbean and Latin America for Hilton. It’s also the first Waldorf Astoria hotel in the Mexican Caribbean and the second in the country.
“The opening of the newly built Waldorf Astoria Cancun marks an important milestone for Hilton as we continue our rapid expansion in Mexico,” said Danny Hughes, Executive Vice President and President of Americas, Hilton.
Located just 10 miles from the airport and 19 miles south of Cancun’s famous Hotel Zone, the luxury hotel sits on 100 acres of Mayan coastline.
Situated on a secluded beach behind a mangrove nature preserve, the luxury hotel offers the perfect balance of Mexican heritage and modern sophistication. With an abundance of things to do, the Waldorf Astoria Cancun boasts the perfect Caribbean getaway.
“By bringing luxury hotels to such highly desirable destinations in Mexico, we continue to evolve our offerings to better serve our guests,” said Matt Schuyler, Chief Brand Officer at Hilton.
The interior of the resort offers a unique design showcasing Cancun’s natural wonders, creating a sense of place where every element tells a story. A connection to nature is drawn through the intricate designs, mimicking the surrounding nature and sea.
The famous landmark and centrepiece of Waldorf Astoria New York, the clock, is continuing its tradition at Waldorf Astoria Cancun. Designed by HBA and created by Smith of Derby, the clock serves as a focal point and meeting place for guests.
The hotel boasts 173 luxurious rooms and suites featuring private balconies with spas and jaw-dropping ocean views.
Inspired by the colourful, local fora, the guest room palette is fresh, calming and neutral.
The bathroom spans the entire room, allowing ample natural light to flood the space. Surrounded by large book-matched marble slabs, guests can enjoy the rain shower while soaking in the stunning view through floor-to-ceiling windows.
Guests can enjoy various dining options across five food and beverage venues.
From the chic Peacock Alley Lounge to signature restaurant Malpeque, Waldorf Astoria Cancun has culinary experiences from regional to international dishes showcasing premier local ingredients.
