When choosing the right time to travel to Bora Bora there are a few Important things to take into consideration. Think about your budget, the weather, and the excursions you want to book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight prices and accommodations on Bora Bora fluctuate depending on the time of year so you should consider your budget before deciding the best time of year for you to visit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spare no expensive<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
If you plan to go all out, opt for one of the iconic bungalows built over crystal clear water or a thatched roof villa right on the beach. There are lavish spas, fine dining, and all-inclusive resorts just waiting to spoil you all year round. I recommend visiting in June, July, or August during Bora Bora’s peak season. The weather is perfect, and the island has so many options for entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although Bora Bora is usually considered a luxury destination, don’t let that deter you. If you are traveling on a tight budget, you should travel between November and April.\u00a0 Activities, excursions, and accommodation tend to be more affordable and you are more likely to find great deals on flights! There are hostels located near the pristine beaches and it’s possible to find reasonably priced excursions as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n When choosing the best time of year to travel think about what kind of weather you would prefer. Are you comfortable with high temperatures, humidity, or rain? <\/p>\n\n\n\n Each of Bora Bora\u2019s seasons has something unique to offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Bora Bora weather is officially divided into two seasons, summer ( low season in Bora Bora ) and winter ( high season in Bora Bora) but I prefer to include Bora Bora\u2019s ” shoulder season\u201d as well. Below is a breakdown of Bora Bora\u2019s seasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Bora Bora summer months are December, January, February, and March ( the opposite of North America). Summer is known as the low season or rainy season. This four-month span is the hottest time of year as Temperatures can reach 90 degrees fahrenheit. You may find yourself seeking the comfort of air conditioning due to the high humidity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If traveling during the summer, be prepared for unpredictable weather. Monsoons roll in from time to time causing afternoon rain storms. The high humidity also causes the mosquitoes to come out of hiding. Pack a rain poncho, and If you are extra sweet, make sure to bring plenty of bug spray during the low season.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bora Bora’s winter months include June, July, August, September, and October. Winter is the dry season or high season. It is hands down the best time to visit<\/strong>. The average temperature is around 75 degrees fahrenheit, and there are blue skies and sunshine every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The climate during the winter makes for perfect vacation weather. You can sunbathe and go on once-in-a-lifetime tours without afternoon thunderstorms raining on your parade ( or excursion.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Droves of people from all over the world flock to Bora Bora in June, July, and August for these perfect weather conditions. Due to the influx of tourists, there are more cultural events and exciting shows during the winter months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n April, May, and November are referred to as \u201cshoulder seasons\u201d because the weather transitions during these months. The moderate days between seasons have some of the best Bora Bora weather. Shoulder months are great times to visit in my book because you can get the best of both worlds: cheaper prices and varied weather.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Don\u2019t forget about the plethora of activities there are to do in Bora Bora. While some might be year-round others, can only be done at certain times of the year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n From July to November, it\u2019s possible to go whale watching. That\u2019s right! You could spot a humpback whale passing through. If this sounds enticing to you, then make sure to go during the ideal months so you don\u2019t miss out on seeing these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The island’s interior is filled with jungle trails that lead to waterfalls, lagoons, and beautiful beaches. So, If you are keen to go hiking on your vacation, it would be best to visit during the dry months ( May through October). <\/p>\n\n\n\n You may find that during the rainy season many hiking trails are closed due to safety concerns. Slippery rocks and high cliffs don\u2019t make the best combination!<\/p>\n\n\n\n A plus side to traveling to Bora Bora in June is the magical festival of\u00a0Heiva I Tahiti. Also known as , This Polynesian Festival of Life. The island to come alive for this festival! <\/p>\n\n\n\n Tourists and locals alike love to take part in the celebrations. The festival provides tourists a glimpse into the unique history of Bora Bora. It showcases art, dances, and music of the region. If this sounds right up your alley, book your ticket for June and bring your party pants.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you are less flexible with dates, don\u2019t worry – there are plenty of activities to do all year round! There is horseback riding, ATVs, and boat rides throughout the entire year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If you can\u2019t make it to see the whales, there are reef sharks that live permanently in the lagoons surrounding Bora Bora. If you prefer something a little more low-key than swimming with sharks, go snorkeling. The island is encircled by a coral reef that makes for incredible snorkeling. The fish never take a day off!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n So, when is the best time to visit Bora Bora? It depends. Everyone is different so weigh your options and choose the time of year for you.
